Assessment the Nutritional Status of Adult Patients Hospitalized in Nephrology and Internal Sectors of Ahvaz Golestan and cancer sector of Ahvaz Shafa Hospital in 2015

Malnutrition is a state of nutrition that is caused by increase, decrease or imbalance of energy, protein and other nutrients and leads to measurable undesirable effects on body form or tissue, organs functioning and clinical estate of a person. This study's goal is to assess the nutrition condition of the adult patients who are hospitalized in internal ward and Nephrology of Golestan Hospital and cancer section in Shafa Hospital of Ahvaz in 1393. Methods and materials: 107 adult patients in internal ward and Nephrology of Golestan Hospital and cancer section in Shafa Hospital were assessed. A questionnaire divided in 2 parts was designed and completed for the patients. The results were evaluated by the statistic program of SPSS.

The highest rate of no malnutrition or mild malnutrition was found in the internal ward (41.9%, 50%) and the highest rate of average and serious malnutrition was observed in the cancer section. (58.8%, 62.5%). Based on Pearson correlation theory there was a sensible relation between the malnutrition degree and weight, waistline and BMI alternatives (P<0.05) and there was no sensible relation between the malnutrition degree and age, height and MUAC alternatives. (P>0.05).

Based on the results of this study we can conclude that there is a sensible relation between the malnutrition degree and weight, waistline and BMI alternatives (P<0.05).
