The Role of the Qur’ānic Names and Attributes of the Resurrection Day in the Training of the Theoretical and Practical Intellect

The Noble Qur’ān mentions the Resurrection Day with different names and attributes. This wise diversity is in line with the goals of the Qur’ān and is provided to guide and train the human. An existential dimension of the human is his theoretical and practical intellect and cognition. This article aimed at finding out the role of the Resurrection Day names and attributes in the training of the human intellect. To this end, a library research method was adopted in which the data was collected through electronic note taking. At the end, it was concluded that the use of these names and attributes in the training of the theoretical intellect causes the human to choose the divine path in a totally intellectual manner, consider God as the true owner of all existence, understand the Resurrection Day as a definite reality, and recognize the instability of the worldly life. Moreover, the use of these names and attributes in training the practical intellect helps the human's practical intellect – which understands the goodness and evilness of different acts in a general manner – to recognize the divine justice and God's favor. All in all, the names and attributes of the Resurrection Day have a role in stabilization, correction, education, and admonition of the intellectual dimension of the human.
