The Strategic Principles of the Two Sects in Confronting Interpretationism of Mahdism’s Misled Flows

The appearance of the promised savior is underlined and endorsed by all Islamic religions and many traditions in Shia and Sunni books have pointed to the events of the Apocalypse and the time of the advent. The false claimants, whether in Mahdism’s clothing or in the renewed clothing of the time, have resorted to the “interpretation” of the apocalyptic concepts in religious texts. Considering the confirmation of correct interpretation by many scholars of the two sects, we can achieve a common strategy in order to deny interpretationism in confrontation with the Mahdism’s misled flows. This article, written with a descriptive-analytic method, has drawn a common strategy in confronting the interpretationism of Mahdism’s misled flows, considering the position of interpretation in Islamic culture. The results show that the common strategy of the two sects include the programs and actions which require the following: presenting a correct view of the interpretation by explaining the criteria and the correct realms of interpretation, pathology of the distortions of Mahdism’s narrations, drawing the un-interpretable components of this teaching and referring the allegorical narrations to explicit ones.
