Effect of Handball motor skills training on visual working memory capacity of students

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of handball motor skills training on visual working memory capacity of students. This study was semi-expermentally with pre/ post test with control group. The sample of this study were girl students of primary school aged ten to thirteen years in Tabriz city that were selected getatable and divided into two groups (12 patients in the experimental group and 12 patients in the control group). We used Goodenough intelligence test and visual/spatial working memory Corsi Block to collect of informantion. The experimental group were trained for 16 one-hour sessions handball motor skills. The results of analysis of covariance showed that learning motor skills of handball and practice them, thereby increasing the performance of working memory, visual / spatial occurs and increases its capacity. In fact, this study can show the relationship and interaction between motor and cognitive processes, particularly working memory.
