Abstract:
The axis of the story of the King and the Kennel in the Masnavi is a fiery love that, after the closure of the cold, is our attempt to answer the following two questions: What is the difference between real and virtual love? What causes the silence of burning love and how can it be prevented by coldness? The psychoanalytic analysis of this story shows that the downfall of this intense love is twofold and idealistic mechanisms. It means that the lover in his fantasy world is unaware of the realities, and with exaggerated excitement, by limiting his love and not seeing the truths, he becomes frustrated and sometimes hated as soon as he has joined his fantasy world. If a lover is protected from two pests of ideation and projection, he will never lose his passion. The meticulous view of Rumi is very close to our contemporary psychoanalytic views.
