Message:
Abstract:
Omar Khayyam has long been known with the title of Hakim. On the other hand, everybody knows Khayam with “Khayyam's philosophy” drawing attention to the death, pessimism, species extinction, blending of sadness and joy and recommending to get drunk and using opportunity, reflecting on these two points, one mind is engaged with this question “ why has this title been given to Khayam? Is he a thinker who firstly thought of death and “has watched power in people’s harvest? Do drinking and taking advantage of opportunities can be seen only in the thoughts of Khayyam ? And does this kind of attitude to life and existence is sufficient for someone to grant him/her the title of Hakim? In order to answer these questions we have depicted that the title of Khayyam has been given by the same reason that considers Ferdowsi a Hakim and the reason is too much wise concepts that have root in the culture and thought of ancient Iranian and these two Hakim are fully equipped with. The exaggeration of drinking wine, taking the pleasant time, carpe diem in Khayyam’s quatrains caused the intelligence of this Iranian Hakim left latent of researchers, the same point that made him called Hakim.
