Estimates of the Cost of Repairing of Babol - Babolsar Road and Vice Versa

Damages caused by road accidents, impose significant costs to country's economy. Road safety audit is one of the measures that can be taken by identifying the underlying causes of accidents, resulting in reduced accidents and consequential financial losses. The Babol-Babolsar road and vice versa, 18 km in Mazandaran province, is one of the most popular areas of the province, which is always used as a transit and tourist route for travelers. Therefore, in view of the importance of the route, the road safety audit was considered in the project to identify the main causes of the occurrence of accidents. To this end, the target route was divided into 18 pieces of one kilometer and safety studies were carried out in accordance with the manual of the road safety audit. After auditing the road safety in the present route, the repair costs of identified problems were calculated using the road, rail, and runway Price List of 1396. Pavement distresses, defects in the pavement marking as well as sign implementation, were among the items studied in this study.
