A Legal Approach to Generational Differences in Marital Interactions

This study attempts to show the women's legal demands in marital interactions in Tehran city; with the aim of showing generational differences between three generations of married women. The main hypothesis of this study is: there is a significant differences between the three generations of married women in the rate of marital legal demands. This research has performed through survey method. The statistical population includes all married women in Tehran; among whom 500 women were selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. They responded to a researcher-made questionnaire. For data analysis, SPSS 20 was used. The findings showed that there is meaningful differences between legal demands of three generations in marital interactions. This means that the third generation (the young generation) has more legal demands than two other generations; and the second generation, as a mediator, has these demands less than the third generation and more than the first generation. Based on the results of stepwise regression analysis, the variables of employment, rate of education and generation, predict 49.9% of changes in dependent variable (women's legal demands in marital interactions).
