A Pathological Analysis of the Interactive Prototype Approach for Technology Promotion and Development in Agricultural Sector

Due to the strategic role and mission of the agricultural sector in economic and social development and also meeting the basic needs of the society, it is necessary to plan and utilize the resources and factors of production. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that reviewing and evaluating performed activities can facilitate this process. Agricultural development requires an interactive development of agricultural knowledge and information systems, technologies, and activities. In this regard, a group of naturalistic scholars established an interactive prototype approach for technology promotion and development for agricultural sector. This criticalanalytical study not only describes the five-step approach, but also examines its strengths and weaknesses. According to the results of the analysis, the most important strengths of the model are participation conceptions of the actors, interactive network, and soft dimensions of technology, environment, and interdisciplinary approach. In addition, the lack of complete explanation and also incomplete discussion of issues such structure of conflicts, the quality of participation, acceptance behavior regarding technology transfer, communication channels, political contexts, empowerment, economics and financial markets, and the assessment of the goals are weaknesses of this model.
