Study on Iranian Bahaii’s connections with the US during Qajar reign 1880-1921

During the last decades of 19th century, according to the 3rd US president Thomas Jefferson’s declaration, American politicians pursuing breaking the US political isolation, decided to become a new dominating power using their economic power and navy.
Earlier, US interests had been developed mostly in Europe and Africa. They changed their intentions for expanding their power dominance and influence toward Latin America and Asia. To achieve this goal the US benefited from anti-colonialist public struggles and supported these countries’ independence to expel European powers from the political arena. Most importantly, the US comparing the European countries had a two-century colonial backwardness background and was intended to compensate this backwardness so fast and achieve a proper portion of world to its camp and consequently plundered Asian nations’ ample resources including Iran. Considering the increasing growth of the idea of becoming a world power in the US and preparing foreground for this purpose, the leaders of Bahaii establishment were tempted to exploit this wave and attract some key American figures through Bahaii propaganda focusing on the return of Messiah.
