Prediction of Retaining and Resigning Addiction Treatment Interventions based on Personality Disorders

The present study aimed at predicting retaining and resigning addiction treatment interventions based on personality disorders. A descriptive-correlational research design was employed for the conduct of this study. The statistical population of this study consisted of all addicts in Ardabil city who presented to one of the addiction treatment centers. From among this population, 349 participants were selected based on through multi-stage cluster sampling. Data was collected using Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-III). The results of discriminant function analysis showed that Schizoid, Avoidant, Depressive, Dependent, Histrionic, Narcissistic, Antisocial, Sadistic, Compulsive, Negativistic, Self-Defeating and Schizotypal personality disorders enjoy the power of addicts' retaining and resigning addiction treatment interventions; however, Borderline and Paranoid personality disorders could not predict it. Therefore, it can be concluded that personality disorders predict addicts' retaining and resigning addiction treatment interventions.
