Abstract:
One of the most important factors in reducing the operational capacity of high speed crafts in marine environments is the growth of mosses and sticky algae in the body of these crafts. This subject it increase the weight, the friction of the body surface with sea water and fuel consumption, the speed and power of maneuver. Today, many studies have been done to achieve an effective way of preventing moss clinging to vessels or minimizing them. The most common solution to tackling moss sticking to the walls of these structures is to create conditions that prevent moss sticking. One of these methods is to cover the surfaces with colors containing toxic substances. Toxic substances of anti-fouling tributyl Tin have a damaging effect on living organisms and living organisms in thesea. Today, due to environmental problems, the use of these materials is prohibited as an antifouling coating. With the advent of nanotechnology, the way to develop anti-fouling coatings is more efficient and environmentally friendly. The use of epoxy-based nano-composite containing oxide nanoparticles on the body of crafts and various operational evaluations showed high performance of nano-composite coatings in preventing moss growth, and by overcoming the problems caused by moss growth, the operational capacity of crafts was significantly Improved.
