Abstract:
Seyyed Mahmoud Taleqani and Mohammad Rashid Reza said traditional theories of Islamic government are inefficient in modern society and intended to present efficient theories based on the holy Qur’an and religious doctrines. For them, consultative doctrines in modern era are the most suitable provision for the Islamic government that can come true within parliamentary system and put an end to crises of Islamic community. Rashid Reza has an elite look at illustration of the consultative assembly while Taleqani relies more upon masses. This paper exploring different angles of consultation from the perspective of these two thinkers adapts it to democracy and deals with its political consequences. The statement of problem of the present article is how consultation is being elucidated in the eyes of the above two Muslim thinkers. Comparison of these two viewpoints-of the Shiite and Sunni thoughts-triggers clarification of agreements, disagreements and stands shared as emphasized in these theories. This article has applied methodology of Stewart Hughes.
