Exigencies of Public Diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran through Intercultural Communication in Relation to Indonesian Muslims

Considering Irano-Indonesian religious differences, what exigencies can be considered in public diplomacy with other Muslim groups from the perspective of Islam? Are there common principles for intercultural communication that can build up cooperation and friendship? These questions can be answered by combining methodology of political sociology and analysis of content from statements of religious leaders and elites and by using the Quranic verses. It hypothesized that public diplomacy of the Islamic republic of Iran must be based on the Islamic progress, cooperation, moderation, maintaining independence of two nations, justice for everyone, general responsibility, solidarity and anti-cruelty resistance. Establishing shared discourse among religions, creating joint website of Iran-Indonesia ulemas in the field of wisdom and justice, organizing joint international seminars on promulgating approximation approach, supporting liberalistic thoughts, measuring accuracy of news about Islamist activities and… are included among operational strategies of diplomacy with Indonesia. Logic of presentation of this research has been gained from analysis of contents taken from ideas of each Islamic group.
