Comparative Study of Lean and Green Supply Chain in Sustainable Development

In a highly competitive world, only an organization will have the ability to compete and have the opportunity to be able to increase their productivity and reduce their cost of production with the expected quality level of customers and the right price. It is possible to do this with attention to the protection of the environment. Today, many companies have realized that moving in the direction of sustainable industrial development and production is impossible without regard for the environment. Because of the economic, social and environmental challenges that have threatened organizations in the last decade, organizations have survived in responsibility in three areas: economic, social, and environmental. In this article, while reviewing the research on the relationship between the two green and lean approaches, we describe the relationship between these two  approaches, their similarities, and their conflicts. The result of theresearch shows that lean methods without explicit intention for greening are green and those lean producers are more successful than non-lean companies. a business environment created using lean approaches can be described as an excellent background for implementing green practices.
