The Relation between “Satisfaction” and “Happiness” in Islamic Mysticism

Satisfaction is one of the greatest and highest God seekers’ positions and a lofty house of the God’s lovers.. “Happiness” has an unbroken link with satisfaction. As a result, in the highest stage of satisfaction, the seeker feels happiness and pleasure in respect to the misfortune and pains received from the beloved (God) through which mystics would attain the reality of satisfaction. According to the significance and prevalent reflection of this subject in the mystical texts, this paper intends to analyze the relation between satisfaction and happiness in Islamic mysticism and also to explicate on the factors which make the mystics happy as they are encountered by hardships and misfortunes.
