On The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence with Burnout among Staff of NAJA

Abstract:
 
Aims
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and job burnout among Naja staff. This is an applied and descriptive research and it has been done through correlation study.
Materials & methods
The statistical population of this research was all employees of NAJA working in Sari city, which numbered 300 people. A Sample of 169 people was selected using Krejsi and Morgan's tables through simple random sampling. Two questionnaires were used to collect data from Shirring Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire and Goldard Burnout Questionnaire (GBI). For reliability of questionnaires, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used which was calculated for emotional intelligence (0.85) and burnout (0.82), which indicates an appropriate reliability coefficient for implementation of the questionnaire. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistical and inferential tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Pearson correlation coefficient) were performed using SPSS software.
Results
The results showed that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job burnout among employees of NAJA. There is also a significant relationship between the components of emotional intelligence and burnout.
Conclusion
based on the results of the current study, it is suggested to the headquarters of NAJA that make their staff acquainted with different kinds of intelligence. Also, it is advised that through running in service courses make staff aware of job burnout, its signs, causes and preventions
