A Hesitation on the concept of “History” and “Westernization” in Seyyed Ahmad Fardid thoughts

This paper studies the two key concepts in political thoughts of Seyyed Ahmad Fardid: History & Westoxication. The author has used Skinnerian Methodology that believes political thought of any thinker would not be formed in an abstract space. They are under the effect of intellectual, historical, discourse, political and social backgrounds of their time. So in order to understand his intellectual themes it is necessary to review the subjective and objective conditions of his time. In this regard, firstly this paper reviews the historical conditions that impressed Ahmad Fardid during the Pahlavids reign and secondly, discusses his intellectual mindset and finally studies two concepts of “History” and “Westoxication” in his intellectual mindset.
