Locating Suitable Sites for Construction of Public Parking Using AHP (Case Study: Old Texture of Yazd city)

Along with an increase in the number of vehicles in the city and according to the considerable size and volume of these devices, predicting in densely populated spaces has found the matter to park the car. Due to the narrow streets of the historic fabric of width of city and the presence of major land uses market and business, tourism and culture Tourism, this area was chosen for the investigation and site selection public parking. According to studies in the field of 12 criteria Selected for locating these parking and using hierarchical analysis, each of these criteria, weighting and application environment ARC GIS map of these users are prepared and then layer of the overlay and determined suitable locations for parking in a barren and desolate land for an acceptable extent. The results showed that the distribution of the current parking area is good, but in some places the number of parking isn’t demand. Also among users under investigation, close to tourist centers, medical and shopping centers had the highest priority.
