A Review of In Praise of the Real, by Mahdi Moghimnesuad
Message:
Abstract:
In this article, the specific dis tinctions in form and content of the book In Praise of the Real (two volumes) are examined and its functions in the current Iranian artis tic-academic community are discussed. In addition, by analyzing some characteris tics and features of the book, its overall content is examined and criticized. For this purpose, the conventional four criteria are applied as the main method of analysis and critique. These criteria consis t of (1) the general introduction of the work and the author; (2) the external analysis or the inspection of the origin of the work; (3) the internal analysis or the discussion of the position of the book, and (4) the critique and evaluation of the content of the book. By reviewing the s tructure and the content of the book repeatedly, this article concludes that the re-publication of mos t of the book’s content is not only useful but also necessary for the current Iranian society. In addition, if these two volumes, with the same material, were divided into three independent volumes, each book could have an exceedingly deeper impact and had a more specific audience.
