Moderating effect of organizational self-esteem on the relationship between self-efficacy and task performance

Abstract:
This research was carried out by the purpose of determining the moderating effect of organizational self-esteem on the relationship between self-efficacy and task performance. Current research was descriptive with correlation type. Its statistical population included all employees of a public hospital, among them 200 were selected as a sample through convenience sampling method. Research instruments consisted of organizational self-esteem questionnaire by Pierce & Gardner, 2004, self-efficacy questionnaire by Shererr et al, 1982 and task performance questionnaire by Babakas & et al., 1999. Data were analyzed by use of Pearson’s correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis. The results showed that there were significant relationship between organizational self-esteem, self-efficacy and task performance (p <0.01). Moreover, the results of Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that self-efficacy and organizational self-esteem (β=0.18, p<0.01) could predict task performance and organizational self-esteem was able to moderate the relationship between self-efficacy and task performance (p<0.01). Based on current research’s results task performance could be increased by increasing of self-efficacy and Organizational self-esteem.
