Abstract:
The great martyr lady, Seyyedeh Amenah Sadr (Bent al-Hoda), the daughter of Ayatullah Seyyed Haidar Sadr and the well-known lady Batul Al Yasin, was born on Muharram 19th, 356 AH in Kadhimiya, and was martyred along with her brother Seyyed Mohammad Bagher-al-Sadr on Jomadi 19th ,400 AH in Baghdad. In childhood, she lost her father and grew up in maternity shelter. She emigrated to Najaf with her family and brothers, Seyyed Ismail and Seyyed Mohammad Bagher and began to learn Islamic knowledge. She was the symbol of Islamic upbringing (education), Islamic ethics and culture, religiousness, true insight and belief, humility, kindness and she had a multidimensional personality and possessed good attributes and authentic values.
The women’s community under the rule of the Baath regime suffered from very strict political, social and cultural conditions. On the cultural side, thoughts of disbelief and disobedience to God had spread. Moral nihilism was prevalent in young people, especially academics.
This caused the society to wander. For this reason, (martyr) Bent al-hoda made efforts to scientifically and culturally enrich the women's community and lead them to perfection. She established Al-Zahra schools, held seminars in houses and religious places, wrote books and articles, etc. to reform the society.
Bent al-hoda's political vision emerged in her confrontation against the Ba'ath regime. From the early days of ruling the mercenary regime in Iraq, Martyr Mohammad Bagher Sadr found out how dangerous it was. He realized its devastating thoughts and the strange plans that are created against Islam and Islamic centers and forces. Therefore, He began the Islamic Revolution with the death of his soul and his followers aimed at protecting Islam. Bent al-hoda was one of the most faithful of his followers who stood firm in contributing to the religious and political awareness of Iraqi women in Iraq and helped her brother to martyrdom with and alongside him.
