Effect of ethanol, Methanol and Acetone Capparis spinosa Extracts on Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Isolated from Sheep's Nose

Abstract:
Background
One of the most important pathogens of Staphylococcus aureus is the ability to form biofilms. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of ethanol, methanol and acetone Capparis spinosa on Staphylococcus aureus biofilm isolated from the sheep's nose.
Methods
Twelve strains of Staphylococcus aureus were isolated from the sheep's nose in Zabol province, and the resistance pattern was determined by disc diffusion method. Eventually, the effect of the extract on biofilm was determined by microplate method of 96 houses.
Results
The results of an antibiotic resistance study showed that Staphylococcus aureus specimens exhibited the highest resistance to Oxacillin antibiotics and were sensitive to other antibiotics. Only one sample was sensitive to Vancomycin and the highest sensitivity was observed to gentamicin antibiotic. The results of antimicrobial studies of grass snail extract showed that the lowest inhibitory concentration of grass snake ethanol extract was 25 ppm, of which 4 strains of Staphylococcus aureus were inhibited at this concentration and the highest inhibitory concentration was 50 ppm. Six strains of Staphylococcus aureus have been inhibited at this concentration. The results of the study on the effect of plant extract on biofilm formation of Staphylococcus aureus showed that the serum of germicle ethyl acetate extract showed a better anti-biofilm effect than the ethanol extract of grass snake.
Conclusion
The development of antibiotic resistance, especially in biofilm-producing isolates, will create serious problems in the therapeutic areas.
