Attitudes young people and parents about the position of the elderly in the family (family case study in Tehran in 1395)

This study aimed to compare the attitude of young people and their parents about the social status of the elderly in the city of Tehran.This Study management theory that has been done in this regard is intended to compare the attitudes of young people and parents. This study is a survey which collect the information by using a questionnaire. The target population of this study are individuals between 18 and 75 years old in 22 districts of Tehran.Using Cochran formula and by the method of non-eventual accidental sampling, the number of 384 individuals were nominated and the necessary data for this study were collected. The obtained data was analyzed using the software spss and expressed in the form of tables and graphs.As the method for this research was descriptive and explanatory, descriptive statistics of mean, median, mode frequency and explanatory level was used as Scheffe tables.This study has three status variables including; elderly altitude, elderly characteristics, and elderly need to be supported in order to evaluate the relationship between young people as well as their parents with them and then compare the results has been measured.There were differences between the attitudes of young people and their parents about the status of the elderly altitude in the community and the parents express more altitude for elderlies. Between youth and parents' attitudes towards the elderly characteristics in the community showed differences and characteristics of elderly reported more positive by parents.The attitude of the young and the parent about the need of elderlies to be supported by families was different and parents believe that the elderlies needs more support in families.
