Abstract:
Anxiety is a common disease in the society. About 500 million people worldwide suffer from this disorder. 85% of people with depression also have anxiety. According to anxiolytic effects of different zinc chloride in male and female rats is Castration post- pubertaly, this was investigated, the effect of zinc chloride on anxiety and deppresive behaviors of rats, in gonadectomized peri-pubertaly. In this experiment, fifty male rats were gonadectomized at postnatal day 21-22 and at puberty were divided into Six groups, control, sham (saline), gonadectomized (saline) and the gonadectomized groups receiving Zinc chloride 5, 10 and 20 mg/kg. Then on postnatal day 75, different doses of zinc chloride (5, 10 and 20 mg/kg; IP) were administered 30 min before the elevated plus maze and forced swimming test. The results showed in gonadectomized group (saline) anxiety did not reach to a significant criterion.
