Objective
In this study, the effect of cognitive rehabilitation on the promotion of selective attention and executive functions of students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder was studied.
Materials and Methods
This is a semi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest with control group, in which 26 children aged 7 to 13 years with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were selected by available sampling method. They were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups.
The tools used to Pars cognitive rehabilitation package for restoring attention and executive functions, the Stroop test for evaluating selective attention, the Wisconsin test for assessing executive functions and Conners behavioral problems scale (parents and teachers forms) for the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Cognitive restoration interventions were performed in 10 sessions of 1.5 hours. The data were analyzed using the statistical analysis of covariance analysis (MANCOVA) by SPSS software (version 22).
Results
The results of this study showed that cognitive rehabilitation intervention was effective on selective attention and executive functions of students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. (ADHD)
Conclusion
The results of this study showed that there is a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the selective attention and executive functions, and it can be concluded that cognitive rehabilitation intervention can be used to improve the selective attention and executive functions of the students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder To be placed.
