An Analysis of the Communicative Indicators of the Professional Ethics of Criminal Investigation Police Officers in Metropolitan Tehran Criminal Investigation Police

 In police organization, the necessity of permanent transformation in manpower and standardization and excellence of I. R. I. Police personnel's behavior in order to their empowerment in fulfilling their missions and organizational tasks have always been taken into considerations by the I. R. I. Police officials and has been put on the agenda of the I. R. I. Police Command as an "organizational value". Therefore, the main objective of this research is to explain the communicative indicators of the professional ethics (general and specific) of police officers in Tehran, to examine the extent of the practice and adherence to these communicative indicators during missions.

 The present study was conducted in descriptive-analytic and survey method. This study was conducted with the participation of 42 senior officers and 63 officers (a total of 105) police officers in Metropolitan Tehran Criminal Investigation Police in 2014. A researcher-made questionnaire was employed to collect the research data. To determine the validity of the questionnaire, content validity was examined using the viewpoint of the supervisor, advisor and several other professors and experts. The reliability of the questionnaire was examined using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The total reliability of the questionnaire was estimated as 0.876 using alpha coefficients.

 The results of the research showed that in the general attributes of senior officers: accountability and responsibility, commitment (faith, belief and practical commitment), and for minor officers, responsibility and accountability and equality are of the highest importance, and in special indicators for senior officers: Intelligence and thoughtfulness, and for minor officers Trust and abiding to law are the most important components.

 By better understanding of the components of professional ethics, we can address the strengths and weaknesses of individuals and programs of the organization, and provide better efficiencies in updating the staff, and ultimately, take a step towards the development of the enforcement system of the law enforcement and improve the service to the individuals in the community.
