The effects of eight weeks motor intervention on academic achievement and fine motor skills students fall behind in school

Abstract:
Motor learning is the grade and base of other learning. The purpose of this current study was to investigate the influence of motor intervention on fine motor skills and academic achievement in third grade elementary students with academic failure in the town of Chalus. Semi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group. The sample included 30 third grade elementary students who are experiencing academic failure, formed from five schools in the town of Chalus that randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. In this research, we used sections of Bruininks _ oseretsky test and self-made achievement test. After pre-test the experimental group participate in motor intervention program for 8 weeks and 2 sessions per week and 40 minutes per session, While the control group continued their daily activities.
Results showed that the covariance between the two groups in educational achievement and fine motor skills, including upper limb co-ordination, speed of response and control of vision there was a statistically significant difference (001/0 = p), It means the program can now improve fine motor skills , basic motor skills and academic achievement.
