A Comparison of Life Expectancy, Feelings of Guilt, and Psychosomatic Disorders between Revealing Female Addicts under Compulsory Treatment and Self‐Introduced Female Addicts

Women’s addiction is one of the most significant issues because of their duty as mothers in a society. This should be regarded as a severe problem which needs to be solved. This study aimed to compare life expectancy, feelings of guilt, and psychosomatic disorders between revealing female addicts under treatment in compulsory accommodation centers and self-introduced female addicts under treatment in residential centers in Zahedan.  Th iscausal-comparative study had a statistical population using a convenience sampling method. The sample consisting of either 30 revealing and self-introduced female addicts in various above-mentioned centers in Zahedan was studied. Accordingly, Eysenck Feelings of Guilt Scale, Schneider Life Expectancy Inventory, and Takata and Sakata Psychosomatic Disorders (2004) were used. For the purpose of analysis, SPSS was applied in this research including inferential statistics, MANOVA to compare the two groups. Results indicated that there were significant differences between the two groups in terms of life expectancy (F = 14.20, P< 0.01), feelings of guilt (F = 26.32, P<0.01), and psychosomatic disorders (F = 24.73, P< 0.01). It is important to mention that the revealing female addicts had lower levels of life expectancy, higher levels of feelings of guilt and psychosomatic disorders in comparison to the other grou.
