Investigating the Narrative Element in the Memoir of the Daughter of Sheena Based on GéRardGenette

The narratology is a science that studies the structure of narration. Based on the structuralistnarratology, the methodical investigation of the literaryworks would lead to the discovery of meaning production methods in these works. Gérard Genette is one of the greatest narratology theorists in France.He has used three factors of tense, aspect or mood and tone to analyze narrative text. Although narration has an extensive space for analysis, the researchers mainly focus on the fictional works. The current study aims at investigating the narrative element in memoir of the Daughter of Sheena based on Gérard Genette to start the focus on analyzing the narratology in memoir genre.The results indicate that the narration type in this memoir genre is classic and linear.The scene element has been used in some parts of this work, where the author’s spouse is present, making it more attractive and cited. The single frequency is the main frequency type employed in this narration. the underrepresentation of the narrator with providing the details hasdecreased the distance between fiction and narration levels, resulting in themore realistic narration. The narration was performed according tothe first-person singular point of view, which is in line with the memoir genre making it more believable.
