Designing and Implementation of Suppliers Evaluation Process in the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) System (Case Study: Mobarakeh Steel Company)

Today organizations are impeled to design a transparent process for evaluating suppliers and contractors from start to finish. The purpose of this study is to provide a framework for the initial qualification and performance evaluation of suppliers and contractors and implement it as part of the supply chain management system in ERP system of the Mobarakeh Steel Company. In this research, at first initial qualification of suppliers and contractors is reviewed. In reviewing the primary competence of suppliers after selecting the necessary and functional criteria, TOPSIS techniques are used to evaluate and assign them to the field of specialized activities. In the second stage, the performance of suppliers in both the inquiry and ordering sections is evaluated using the data envelopment analysis technique. The performance of contractors after the start of activity is evaluated periodically by appropriate criteria. Transparency at each stage of the process will help the company to select the appropriate suppliers and contractors and examine their performance transparently when working together. Also, transparency in this process will make the applicants to collaborate with the company to have a good view of choosing or not choosing at the beginning of the process and evaluating their performance over the course of the partnership.
