Assessing the weaknesses and strengths of housing policies in Iran (Pre-development and Development Plans after the Revolution)

Housing policies, above all, represent the attitudes, ideals and political beliefs of governments, and also reflect the real desire to improve the quality of the low income classes. The purpose of this study is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of housing policies in pre-revolutionary development plans and post-revolution development plans. The method of this research is descriptive and analytical, which has been gathered using documentary-library resources. According to the findings, the most important strengths of the pre-revolutionary development plans are the construction of affordable housing for slum dwellers, housing for low-income groups, and the import of many materials, the diversification of housing construction, the resolution of the problem of middle class housing These are the weaknesses of these programs. The strengths of the post-revolutionary programs, the supply of land and housing at regional prices, and control the trend of rising land prices, increasing durable buildings, paying attention to areas in need of renovation and renovation of worn out textiles, social housing, and the formation of The phenomenon of land speculation and the development of land and housing ... are among the weaknesses of these programs.
