Functional Analysis of Intra-Urban Public Transport System   (Case Study: Ilam City)

The growing population of cities, especially in developing countries, has caused a lot of problems in cities, one part of which is the issue of intra-urban transport, with challenges such as increased travel time, environmental pollution, mental and psychological problems Follows. So, city managers are looking for alternative systems to reduce the use of personal cars and easy and fast traffic within cities. In this regard, the use of public transport as one of the ways to reduce the volume of use of a person's car. As a result, the optimal service and function in this sector can lead to citizens' satisfaction and reduce the volume of personal car in the city. Considering the importance of public transportation and the physical and topographical features of the city of ilam, the importance of using the inland urban transport system has doubled. In this study, the analytical-descriptive research method has investigated the functioning of the city's public transport system ilam has been dealt with. The results of the findings indicate that the public transportation system of ilam city is not in desirable condition in terms of servicing and function and has resulted in dissatisfaction of citizens.
