National and Ethnic Identity in Afghanistan: A case study of Cabul Education's Faculty.

National identity is a subjective concept that represent belonging to a certain national group. national identity including a complex set of circumstances and sentiments that determine the ways that individuals using to see their inner group and the other groups. the issue of national identity is one of the very important cultural problems in Afghanistan. In this country there are some linguistic , ethnic and religious differences and at the same time they have some similarities with the ethnic groups in the neighboring countries. In addition, war and the other destructive conflicts in this country were barriers to constitute an integrative country. this paper attempts to investigate the sociocultural factors related to the national identity of the students of Education Faculty. This study seeks to explaining national identity of students in terms of their ethnic memberships (including Pashtun, Hazaras and Tajik ethnic groups). We used theories of Giddens and Stryker as a theoretical framework. Survey is the our method of research. The size of sample was 372 students that who were selected by systemic randomized sampling. And collected data was analyzing by the spss software. the results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between independent variables such as ethnic, religious and global identities , social capital , participatory life style with the student national identity. furthermore, by doing multivariable regression, we found that variables such as participatory life style , religious identity, social capital and sex explained the 10.7 percent of variation in the dependent variable
