Application of Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling in the Effect of Goal Orientation (Teacher and Student) and Help seeking on Math Performance of 7th Grade Students
The purpose of the present study was to apply the modeling of multilevel structural equations to the effect of the goal orientation (teacher and student) and help seeking on the math performance of the 7th grade students. For this purpose, 550 seventh grade students selected by two-stage cluster sampling method completed goal orientation questionnaire (Megli et al. 2000), as well as help seeking questionnaire (Rian and Pontrich's ,1997). Teachers responded to questions about the goal orientation (Butler, (2007, Modeling of multi-level structural equations was used to study the data. The results showed that goal orientation had a significant direct effect on academic performance in both student and class levels, and the effect of help seeking on academic performance was significant. research showed that the relationship between mastery goals and students 'mathematical performance is positive and significant, and there is a negative and significant relationship between the goals of tendency toward performance and avoidance of performance with students' mathematical performance
