Investigating the Relation between Five Personality Attributes and Marital Conflicts among Couples in Qom

The objecve of this study is to invesgate the relaon between personality aributes and marital conflicts among couples in Qom by using the survey method. The present research applied Cochran formula; therefore the sample of 384 couples including, compable, incompable and divorced ones were selected. Hence, the random-cluster sampling method and Snowball sampling technique were selected to examine the samples. In this process, each of the subjects completed two Short Personality Aributes Quesonnaires (NEO) as well as Marital Conflict Quesonnaire (P T Z- T), then data were analyzed by DE soware (data entry) and Spss. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and simple sequenal regression were applied for inferenal stascs part. Findings indicated that personality aributes were different among the three groups of compable, incompable and divorced couples. It also revealed that the extent of conflict in the divorcing group is at the highest level, then it goes with the incompable groups; consequently in the compable groups in comparison to the previous groups the extent of conflicts changes from more to less. Regarding personality aributes, the findings also indicated that the extent of paranormal nausea, adaptability and compability was different among compable, incompable and divorced couples; whereas the extent of extroversion and conscienousness was not different in the foresaid groups. Moreover, it also revealed that observing the relaon among the dimensions of marital conflicts, paranormal nausea, extraversion, adaptability, and conscienousness, there is correlaon and significant stascal relaon in some dimensions; whereas, there is no relaon in some other dimensions.
