Carbon Quantum Dots, a Window to the future of nanobiotechnology
Due to advanced and stable physical, chemical, and optical properties, low-toxicity and high-biocompatibility, carbon quantum dots have attracted significant attention
for employment in bioimaging, biomedicine and therapeutics. Although several studies have focused on improving the major properties of these semiconducting quantum dots, there are still a lot more investigations required to make them reliable agents for biological applications. In this paper, characteristics, applications and synthesis methods of graphene quantum dots have been introduced.
