The role of information technology capabilities could have on service innovation through organizational entrepreneurship in knowledge-based enterprises

Information technology (IT) plays a crucial role in the dynamic and instant era. It is worthy of mentioning that those organizations that benefit of information technology and its advantages can lead other organizations in the accumulation, storage and transmission of knowledge. Clearly technology is highly effective in the quality and quantity of service innovation. And hence organizational entrepreneurship is regarded a key factor in the betterment of service innovation. This study, therefore, deals with the impact that information technology capabilities could have on service innovation through organizational entrepreneurship. This work is a descriptive-survey applied research type. The statistical population for this study embraces the knowledge-based enterprises of Tehran the capital city of Iran from which 180 individuals are selected as sample and their data are collected through questionnaire and the data analysis is conducted based on confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) with the usage of PLS software. The results of this study illustrate that information technology (IT) through entrepreneurship could have positive impact on service innovation.
