The present study aims to investigate changes in the geopolitical order of Western Asia and the opportunities created for Iran and Russia to balance the power in the region. For this purpose, while analyzing the current order and its outlook, the common theoretical foundations and cooperation areas between the two countries are studied to establish a more stable balance of power. The present article acknowledges that the order in Western Asia, especially after the Syrian crisis, has undergone systemic changes. The subnational groups’ demand for share, the intense competition between regional powers, the weakness of the West in pursuing its goals, and Moscow’s attempt to revive its position in Western Asia show the signs of a new arrangement of forces in the region. This paper will perform a systemic analysis to investigate the geopolitical order in Western Asia in the context of international developments and then will focus on the significant relationship between trends in these two areas. The Iran-Russia relations and their areas of cooperation for the containment of instability and trending in Western Asia are also analyzed in this article. It is emphasized that, despite some disputes, the need for effective deterrence against destabilizing trends, including American policies that reproduce threats and instability, can form the basis of sustainable interaction between both countries. Synergy against such strategic threat contributes to a more balanced order in the Western Asian geopolitics and strengthens the potential of deterrence and stability in other regions, including Eurasia. In contrast, passivity or failure in this area will lead to the progress of destructive Western order not only in Western Asia but also in other areas, including Eurasia
