Organizational Change In Iran Oil Industry: A model For Creating Knowledge-Based Organizations

Organizational change is one of the key decisions in every company. If managers do not pay attention to organizational resources, especially non-tangible ones such as knowledge, innovation and intellectual property management, Organizational Change cannot be implemented as expected. This paper aims to develop a model for today's organizations in the oil and gas industry seeking to become a knowledge-based organization. For this purpose, the requirements and necessities of oil industry to be a knowledge-based organization discussed firstly. Then, the constituencies of developing a model defined. The research model is built on the idea that creating competitive advantage requires organizations to prioritize and choose one system among three systems including knowledge management, innovation management and intellectual property management in the scope of intangible capital management strategy. A combination of these foundations and concepts led to a model for organizational change in the oil industry, a model consists of six steps by which organizations can move towards the knowledge-based organizations in the oil industry.
