Abstract:
Proverbs are a main part of the folklore in the literature and they have their root in beliefs and faiths of every nation or even a local area. In fact, proverbs are the reflection of the society's culture. This research tries to study and analyze the role of female in the used proverbs of Marvdasht by a Feminist Liberalist Approach. The research involves collecting fieldwork data from the participants, interviewing with native speakers older than 40 and then the collected data are categorized and analyzed. Females have a negative role and position in the most of the proverbs and there is a negative viewpoint to the Women. Whenever the aim was to talk about the imponderability and hypocrisy, they pointed to the Women even if the addressee was a Man. The positive outlook to the Woman was merely observed when she was at home as a housewife and played her maternal role and preserved her husband`s money economically. These are the proofs of patriarchy in the Marvdasht society which are accepted and internalized by the Women.
