Assessing the risks of aqueducts in urban crisis management(Case Study of Neishabour City)

Cities are considered to be one of the most sensitive geographical areas due to demographic changes and land use, which, if these changes are not explored and foreseen by the authorities and municipalities, will cause irreparable financial and human damages to the citizens. The lack of planning in the field of urban development and determining the proper direction of growth of the city today has caused irreparable losses and costs, such as the expansion of cities such as Neishabur on the territory of Qanat. Ghannat is one of the oldest and most economical methods for extracting groundwater and is part of Iran's national heritage. But today, with the underground water level and the drying of the aqueducts, these underground channels have become a crisis in urban areas. Dozens of buildings are damaged in Iran annually due to its collapse caused by the canals of the Qanats. The present paper uses a field-analytical method and using documentary studies, using the AHP hierarchical process model and GIS software using various indicators and valuation of land subsidence criteria to study the areas at risk in Neyshabour city. Finally, there are also strategies and policies to prevent, plan and manage crisis management in the event of a risk.
