Social Needs and Their Relationship to The Motivations of Faculty Members to Progress at Amin Police University

The role of faculty members in the higher education system of the country as an expert and efficient human resource plays a key role, and it is very important to pay attention to its effective service providers. This issue is of great importance at the Police University since it is a pivotal task of educating the security guard of the country. Therefore, this research, while measuring the social needs of faculty members, measures its impact on the motivation for their progress. The research is an applied one and in terms of nature and method, it is descriptive-correlation. The tool is a researcher-made questionnaire with 36 items and a Likert scale of 5 degrees. The statistical society consisted of full-time faculty members. After collecting questionnaires, the data were analyzed using statistical methods. Findings of the research show that social needs affecting faculty members include the need for power with 79.1%, the need for a relationship with 75.2% and the need for success with 46.1%, which influences these needs on the motivation of the progression of faculty members in terms of effect and order: the need for success, the need for power and the need for communication. That is, there is a positive and direct relationship between these two variables, and with the increasing need for success, the need for communication and the need for power, the amount of motivation for the progress of the professors will increase.
