The effects of Bajgeeran Border Market on Social and Economic Security of surrounding rural areas (Case Study: Dolatkhaneh county of Ghochan)

Security has different dimensions. An important and important dimension is the socio-economic security that holds onto the territorial communities. The existence of the boundary has created the potential for trade exchanges, including the creation of border markets for product supply. There are 43 markets in the border regions of the country. The Bajgeeran border market is also one of the border markets of the country, which was built in the city of Ghochan and bordered by Turkmenistan. Therefore, the research question is such that the extent to which the Bajgeeran border market has brought socioeconomic security to neighboring villages. Data gathering method was used as a library-field survey and data analysis method was used as descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics. Research items have been obtained from the socioeconomic security component. The statistical population of the research includes 22 villages of the rural districts of Golestan province. Due to the large population of this village, 5 villages (Burdur, Biradam, Sheikhanklou, Shamkhal and Karehikheh) were investigated near the border crossing. Using the Morgan table, the required number of 180 questionnaires was determined. The results indicate that the employment situation has changed before and after the establishment of the market, and the agricultural and livestock sector has decreased. The market has created new businesses such as salespersons, transportation services, manpower (service workers), and more. The statistics show that the amount of smuggling in the region has fallen in the past, as well as the establishment of market infrastructure and exchanges caused by it. The relationship between villages has also been expanded.
