Analysis of the "Women Friendly City" in Iran

Men and women use urban spaces in a variety of ways, according to their roles and responsibilities. Meanwhile, women have always been directly involved with the family and society and should be at the center of the planning process for building urban spaces. But so far the prevailing trend in urban planning has been to rule out the dominance of masculine attitudes and understanding their needs from the city. The woman-friendly city refers to a desirable city that identifies and plans on issues and needs of women in a broad and comprehensive way in order to resolve existing problems and shortcomings. This research was conducted using descriptive-analytical method and analyzing documentary resources and libraries, The results of the studies and analyzes pointed out that the concept and category of a woman-friendly city was not completely understood in the theoretical and not in practical terms, and the exact and precise programming has not been made in the realization of it.
