The role of urban parks in the social sustainability of cities, case study Azadi park, Shiraz

Parks and urban green spaces are one of the most important factors in shaping social sustainability and urban solidarity. However, factors such as urban life problems, park safety, and green space, and the lack of security and fitness for the various age and genders in these places are among the factors that reduce the willingness of citizens to use these areas. The sample size was estimated to be 150 people and increased to 170 people to eliminate the effect of unanswered questions. This issue is seen in the light of the appropriate context of the Azadi Park in its social, cultural, and environmental context. Unfortunately, the function of this park in the field of social and cultural is very weak. According to the data gathering from park users and Its analysis through SPSS software, the problems of the Azadi Park in social sustainability from the user's point of view, are classified into perceptual, physical and spatial characteristics. These features include social outcomes, social interaction, equality, and social diversity, and social security, and its spatial factors related to park management, park lighting, security in transit routes, drinking water stays, land equipment, audio equipment, and resorts. Based on which effective strategies for research purposes and promotion of the role of urban parks in urban social sustainability were presented.
