Effect of client-centered therapy on PTSD and depression in raped women in Bandar Abbas

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression are psychosomatic disorders that can be manifested as a result of rape and be a major threat to the health of victims of rape. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Client-Centered Therapy on PTSD and depression in raped women in Bandar Abbas. The research statistical population was raped women in Bandar Abbas that among the volunteers of receiving treatment to reduce stress and depression after matching the participants in terms of age, sex, type of incident and the severity of depression and stress, and 30 people were selected as samples, they were randomly assigned to control group (15 people) and experimental group (15 people). For data collection, short form of Beck Depression Inventory and post-incident Stress Scale of Mississippi PTSD were used. At first, a pretest was performed for both groups, then Client-Centered Therapy was performed for the experimental group in 8 sessions. After completion of the treatment program, the pretest was performed for both groups. Data were analyzed byMONCOVA. The findings showed that Client-Centered Therapy improved participants' stress in all subscales of PTSD and depression (P-Value<0.05). Therefore, it can be claimed that the effectiveness of Client-Centered Therapy on PTSD and depression is confirmed
