The Investigation of Growth Patterns in 3 to 5 years Females of Ahwaz City Compared with International Standards National Center Health Statistics (NCHS) Standards

To investigate the growth Patterns of 3 to 5 years females of Ahwaz city compared with (NCHS) Statistics. Research 170 females (3 to 5 years) from preschool of Ahvaz city were selected using a cluster randomized method. Height, weight and age were measured and were analyzed using the corresponding percentile and one sample t-test to compare with the same sample mean from NCHS. Our results showed that the mean height and weight of girls at ages 3 and 4 of Ahvaz city are accordance with NCHS standard, but then it shows downward skewness. Moreover, the average height and weight of girls at age 5 of Ahvaz city have lower height and weight compared with their peer group of NCHS standards. Our results showed that the physical growth of female children (3 to 4 yrs) are almost desirable, however, physical growth of 5 years old females did not match with NCHS standards anymore.
