Using Audio Books as a Medium for Teaching History

In recent years, media technologies have provided new opportunities to help educate and research in the field of history, producing “Audio Books” are as such. The Talking Book or Audio Book is one of the media types which have been welcomed by the audience due to its multimedia spaces in its production. The purpose of this research is to peruse how to use the capacities of the talking book in teaching history in different age groups for increasing reader’s interest in studying and learning history. This research has been conducted with an analytical, interpretive and documentary approach. So far, similar research has not been done in the field of history training and talking books. This study concludes showing how sound and multimedia capacities can be used for visualization in the talking books of children and adults. The latter justifies that new multimedia features can be used solely or as complementary in history training with other teaching methods.
