The Blended Learning Approach for Students with Special Educational Needs

Abstract:

Students with special needs are a group of students who are mentally, physically, emotionally and socially different from ordinary students and their specific conditions require more attention and further assistance by the authorities of the educational system. The purpose of this study was to provide a blended learning approach as an appropriate approach to educate students with special needs. To achieve this goal, the present study was conducted as a descriptive research and the analytical-documental method was used. The study population consisted of all internal and external scientific resources such as books, magazines and valid scientific websites which were about the keywords of the study where some available samples were analyzed and this investigation continued up to achieving a theoretical richness. The findings suggest that the immense diversity and individual differences between students with special needs should be considered in education. These students need a dynamic and flexible approach which could support the teaching-learning process in coherent way based on the various conditions and appropriate to the individuals. The blended learning approach is the approach which can have such a flexible function. This approach is especially practical in inclusive system.
